Benjamin Cunningham is a writer, scholar, lyricist and journalist. His book “The Liar: How a Double Agent in the CIA Became the Last Honest Man of the Cold War” was nominated for the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Biography. He cowrote six songs on Nestor’s 2024 album “Teenage Rebel”, which topped music charts in six European countries.

Benjamin began as a newspaper reporter in Michigan. He has since resided in Amsterdam, Prague and, now, Barcelona. Benjamin has reported from more than 40 countries, contributing to The New York Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Le Monde Diplomatique, The Los Angeles Review of Books, TIME, Haaretz, SME, The Detroit Free Press, Al Jazeera, The Aspen Review and The Christian Science Monitor, among other outlets. He worked a decade as a correspondent for The Economist and was, prior to that, editor-in-chief of The Prague Post.

Benjamin has a PhD from the Universitat de Barcelona and lives near beach with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he practices endurance sports and samples fine lagers.
